Inside these cavities, time seems to stand still. Along the walls, you may still notice marine fossils embedded in the stone \u2013 pecten, rudists, shells \u2013 evidence of when this entire area lay beneath the sea, millions of years ago. A canyon carved into the rock that suddenly opens up, <strong>revealing emerald waters<\/strong>, towering cliffs dotted with <strong>natural caves<\/strong>, and a walkway suspended above the sea that takes your breath away.<br \/>The name \u201cCiolo\u201d comes from the local dialect and refers to the <strong>flight of the crow<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cu ciuolu\u201d \u2013 which once inhabited these cliffs. Today, it is a beloved destination for hikers, trekking enthusiasts, photographers and travellers in search of authenticity.
